Not far from the town of Collesalvetti are the imposing
remains of the 19th century Leopoldine
Aqueduct, built by the Grand Dukes of Tuscany to supply Livorno with water.
Its dimensions are really impressive: 18 km of vertiginous arches, walls and tunnels
winding their way through luxuriant nature. A magical place rich in history, it is a favourite
destination for photographers and nature lovers.
