Mascagni Festival

The Mascagni Festival generally takes place in September in the splendid setting of the Mascagni Terrace. You will have the pleasure of listening to Mascagni‘s music in the same locations that inspired it.

It would not be possible to listen to the “Barcarola” from the second act of “Silvano” without thinking of the reflections of the moon on a clear night on the Livorno seafront.

One can perceive Livorno’s sea and wind in many pages of Mascagni’s work – from the Symphony of the Masks, moved by the gusts of the libeccio, to the second act of “Parisina”, with the sailors’ songs, to the finale of “Piccolo Marat”, where a sail brings the opera to a close on the notes of Hope and Freedom.
